The Other is a German horror punk band. It is considered the most prominent example of the horror punk genre in Europe. == History== The Other was founded in 2002 in Leichlingen, Germany. Rod Usher, Sarge von Rock, Dr. Caligari and Andy Only started out as a Misfits cover band under the name Ghouls in 1999. The Other made a name for themselves soon after their foundation, especially due to their outfits, which are inspired by old horror movies. Punk and deathrock fans appreciated the band's sound, which can be called a mixture of punk, deathrock, rockabilly, and metal. Their contribution to the compilation ''This is Horrorpunk'' created worldwide attention, and after the release of the debut album ''They're Alive'' The Other supported bands such as the Misfits, Wednesday 13, Balzac, and The 69 Eyes. The second album, ''We Are Who We Eat'', was released in 2006 and confirmed the status of the band. Two European tours and gigs with Bela B., Wednesday 13, and The Meteors, as well as many festivals, followed. The Other played their first US-Tour consisting of only selected dates on the West-Coast in January 2007. The tour was considered a success and the band managed to sell out shows at the Key Club in Hollywood, CA or the Showcaste Theatre in Corona, CA and draw many fans to other shows in California, Arizona and Nevada. Upon their return to Germany, The Other set out on a tour with The Damned and also supported The Cult. Shortly afterwards, the band's first comic-book entitled "Tales of The Other" appeared in stores, though only in German. The band's first video-clip to the song "Lover's Lane" was also released at that time and was played on German television, including a presentation on "MTV Masters". That fact that German pornstar Leonie Saint played the lead-role in the clip caused a lot of interest in the national press. The Other's third album "The Place To Bleed" was released in May 2008 and was met with a lot of press-attention. Because of its success The Other was selected as one of the headliners of the "Wave-Gotik-Treffen" in Germany and also played the "M'era Luna"-Festival in Germany, thus gaining even more popularity. For "New Blood" - the band's fourth album - The Other signed with SPV Records. "New Blood" was released worldwide in different formats: as a limited digipak with five bonus-tracks, as a regular CD and as a double gatefold LP with two bonus-tracks. Due to high record-sales and extensive press-coverage the band was able to support Alice Cooper in Germany and be the first horror punk-band to ever play the "Wacken Open Air". The first line-up change took place in December 2006, when bassist and founding member Andy Only left the band. The former roadie Migore Drake became the new bassist. Migore Drake was let go in December 2010 and replaced by new bassist Viktor Sharp. The band's fifth album "The Devils You Know" was released on June 15, 2012 in Europe and July 31 in the United States on Steamhammer/SPV Records. A second comic-book was published at the same time by Panini Comics. 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「The Other (band)」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
